Activation of fixed assets
When an investment is done, it has to be posted against balance and not cost accounts. This process is referred to as activation.
In RamBase the invoices for investments are posted against special investments accounts. In regular time-intervals (or automatic), the investments are transferred to a ledger balance account. Which balance account depends on the type of investment and depreciation plan that has been selected.
Once the asset is activated, it is ready for depreciation.
