[en] Prioritized reallocation
[en] In rental operations, demand may occasionally exceed the available fleet capacity. When this happens, operators need to decide which contracts should receive available equipment based on customer priorities and operational commitments.
[en] The system provides a reallocation function that allows authorized users to quickly redistribute rental units between contracts. Instead of manually moving units one by one, the system can automatically identify and reassign available units to help fulfill the selected contract items. The feature helps operators quickly ensure that the most important contracts receive the necessary units while reducing manual adjustments and the risk of errors.
[en] Using the Reallocation function
[en] The Change priority on selected items function is available in the Context menu of a Rental contract item (RCTITEM). It can be triggered either from a single item or from multiple selected contract items. Only users with the Fleet operator role are allowed to initiate this action.
[en] When the function is started, the system analyzes the selected contract items to determine how many rental units are required. It then searches across other contracts for units that can be reassigned. Units that are not locked or otherwise restricted may be reallocated to fulfill the demand.
[en] If the customer associated with the contract owns rental units within the fleet, the system prioritizes allocating those units whenever possible. Before any changes are applied, the system asks the user to confirm the operation. This ensures that reallocations are performed intentionally. All reallocation operations are logged for traceability. The system records which user initiated the action along with the date and time when it was performed. This allows operational teams and administrators to review allocation decisions if necessary.
