[en] Require serial number for parts in Product units (LCM)

[en] In RamBase, there is flexibility in deciding when serial numbers are required for parts used in a production.

[en] You can decide when serial numbers should be required by setting up Products (ART), Operations (OPR), adjusting Product units (LCM) in the Life cycle management (LCM) application or applying the requirement to specific parts in either the Product structure (KITARTOPRITM) or Production structure (KITDOCOPRITM).

[en] But before you begin:

[en] Parts are defined in the Product (ART) application. To require a serial number before a production can be completed, a part must be defined as traceable material.

[en] Navigation

[en] 1. Product (ART) → 2. Select Product (ART) → 3. Properties tab → 4. Main data sub-tab → 5. Check the Is traceable material of product unit checkbox

[en] Note that during production of a product structure, each produced unit generates a list of traceable materials included in the finished unit. When the Is traceable material of product unit checkbox is true, this product is included in the list of traceable materials.

[en] Checkbox - CheckSerialnoOnParts

[en] During the production of a structure, each produced unit generates a list of traceable materials included in the finished unit.

[en] The CheckSerialnoOnParts can either be enabled or disabled on the Operation (KITARTOPRITM/KITDOCOPRITM).

[en] Changing the value of CheckSerialnoOnParts on operation in the Production structure (KITDOC), in the Operation (KITDOCOPRITM) does not update Req serialno on parts in the Product unit (LCM) part list.

[en] It is only enabling or disabling the check of serial numbers for parts on the current and/or previous operation.

[en] If enabled

[en] If CheckSerialnoOnParts is enabled in KITARTOPRITM/KITDOCOPRITM, and the Require serial number when traceable material checkbox is enabled in the Product (ART), this product requires a serial number in the Part list before the Work order operation (WOO) it belongs to can be completed.

[en] If disabled

[en] If CheckSerialnoOnParts is disabled on the Operation (KITDOCOPRITM) for the Production structure (KITDOC), when completing this Work order operation (WOO), there will be no serial number check.
